Wanderers storm into finals

Western Sydney Wanderers have transformed their fortunes in the last month, winning their last 4 games and scoring 12 goals in the process. The misfiring and non shooting Wanderers have been replaced with first time shots and one touch football.

Newcastle were the latest team to come up against the resurgent Wanderers and although having a lot of the run of the game, failed to capitalise on early possession.

They were punished for this when WSW captain Robert Cornthwaite headed in 5 before half time.

Wanderers then doubled their advantage a couple of minutes later to shock the home team.

This time it was from a set piece where Jumpei flicked the ball in first time and Jaushua Sotirio then fired a shot like a daisy cutter at Keeper Jack Duncan, who it must be said didn’t have a good game.

After the break Wanderers came back and effectively iced the game with another header from the new Wanderers Skipper.

Duncan again wont add the attempted save to his highlight reel, like Sotirio’s shot it was straight at him, this time it sailed over his head.

From there the points were always going down the M1 and Western Sydney closed the game out with a minimum of fuss.
