When it rains it pours at Spotless

Western Sydney broke out of their year long shell at Spotless stadium, finally recording their maiden win. Wanderers look to have found their form after an impressive midweek Asian Champions League victory over highly fancied Seoul FC. These back to back wins give Wanderers an outside hope in Asia and with 1 foot in the door for 6th place in the A-League.

Nico opened the scoring with an elegant shot, effectively passing the ball into the goal from the edge of the area.

However, Brendan Santalab was again the main story, with a historical brace which elevated him to the clubs all time top scorer. The first goal was a cracker as he calmly evaded defenders before firing home from beyond 18 yards.

The second strike was typical Santalab as he was the right man in the right place with a deadly bullet header. A true poachers strike which put the game beyond Wellington despite a late Finkler goal.

Wanderers will be looking to continue their streak with a win over Melbourne City on Friday and can all but seal a top 6 spot with 3 more points.

With Wellington playing Newcastle on Sunday, a draw could effectively end both teams chances of catching WSW.
